South Dakota - Day 3

Sunday was my last day in South Dakota. Everyone else stayed till Monday, but I had to work and go to class. Before I got in the car for the 650+ mile road trip home, I wanted to get in a little more fun!

After breakfast, we headed to Jewel Cave for a 2 hour scenic cave tour - AWESOME! We were almost 400 feet underground...and climbed over 700 steps up and down as we explored the cave. When we left the cave, the girls became "Jr. Rangers of Jewel Cave" - AWESOME. Then some folks tried to fit through a cement block that was 8.5 inches high and 18 inches wide! If you fit through you could go on the spleunking tour...funny stuff to watch!

Went back to the campground, made lunch, packed up and hit the road. LONG road trip back, but I made good timing. Stopped 4 times, got delayed by construction and still made it home in 9.5 hours! Sadly, I was sniffling and feeling crummy the entire way home....woke up Monday morning to a temp of 102 and a trip to the doctor! Was out of work for 3 days, am on my second round of antibiotics, and have enjoyed 2 solid days with no fever - FINALLY! It got pretty cold at night and I didn't really pack for it....that combined with the utter exhaustion from the trip and exhaustion from finishing my summer semester of school....I am so not shocked I got so sick...just bummed about it!

Now...packing and preparing for a trip to England through Amsterdam! My first trip out of the country....it should be an adventure! I will try and blog often and will post pictures as I go!
