Arrival in Manchester, UK

I arrived in Manchester and was soooo exhausted. Other than my short nap on the first flight, I had been up for 26+ hours. I made it through customs after I answered some questions, found my luggage, and my driver (from the Executive Car Service). He loaded up all of my belongings in a brand spankin new Audi A6 (6 speed manual). I rode up front with him so I could see more and he gave me some UK history while we drove. It was very odd sitting in the front seat of the car on the left side and not driving! While he was driving all I could think about was how strange it would be to try and shift left-handed (simply cuz I am use to shifting right handed).

He pointed out a farm that is literally in the middle of a highway that runs coast to coast. I mean in the middle - one direction of traffic goes around his farm on the right and the other direction of traffic goes around his farm on the left. Apparently this guy did not want to sell his farm 30 years ago so they built the highway AROUND his farm! It looks soooo funny to see a farm and farm animals in the middle of a highway.

I checked in at the hotel and got situated in my hotel room. I then somehow went for a walk and found the Carvery for dinner. My directions were: "Walk to the end of the car park, ya, walk down the foot path and cross the round about, walk aways and you will see it. Ya? Cheers." I found it and had a delicious dinner and tried Yorkshire pudding (didn't like it much). The poor chef dude at the Carvery didn't know what hit him when he met me! I told him I didn't know what Yorkshire pudding was and he said: "Well then you are going to try it! We have to broaden your American views." After dinner I came back to the hotel and just relaxed. Now I am watching a movie and will head to bed soon! Stay tuned for the update on my first day at work here :-)

The trouser press in my hotel room....I kinda wanna try it ;-)

My hotel room door and in the corner my little make-up/hair area!

Getting all settled in and trying to keep my work clothes from getting wrinkled!

Fun signs I saw while walking to the lift to get to my room

One of the views from the Car Park outside my hotel. I love the old looking brick buildings.

Alright that is all for now my friends! I cannot stay awake a moment longer! These pictures took forever to upload.
